Situated between the surf-chic centre of Hossegor and its mill-pond calm lagoon, and within walking distance of both, this super-stylish new villa puts you near the heart of the very best this lovely coastline has to offer, ideal for surfers, golfers or a family group.
It’s big, bold and beautifully finished with quirky, colourful artworks to offset the calm, white bedrooms, each of which is en suite. The plot banks steeply up towards the forest at the rear of the house, so the architect has made clever use of the roof space to provide generous sunbathing and lounging terraces, and still leave room for a lawn to play on, a pétanque pitch and a heated, 11m private swimming pool.
If you’ve got teenagers in your party, they can make their own way around on foot either to the lake for some SUP action, or into town for shopping and people watching. Hire bikes and everything becomes easier still, with the vast sands of Les Estagnots beach a nine-minute cycle ride away. The lake beaches are ideal for younger children, with plenty of picnic spots and no waves to hamper those first tentative steps into the water.
Villa du Rey sleeps up to eight in great comfort, but if you’re looking for even more space, consider booking it alongside Casa Duna, a similar style property just a few metres away in the same small residential enclave.

Local Area
Whether you prefer a leisurely 20-25 minute walk to the town centre to explore its trendy boutiques and excellent restaurants, or a short cycle ride (2.5km) to the ocean for surfing and beach games, there is plenty to do right on your doorstep. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the nearby courses in Seignosse, while Capbreton, with its bustling daily fish market and marina restaurants, provides an authentically French seaside experience where you can enjoy the catch of the day alongside the locals. Away from the beach we recommend the charming city of Bayonne, famed for its fine chocolate and cured hams, around a half-hour drive away. A little further south lies world-renowned Biarritz, blending Belle Époque glamour with elegant eateries and fashionable shops.

Once entirely marshland, this region is now a natural playground of sand dunes and beaches, pine forests and picturesque lakes, where walking and cycling are the most pleasurable ways of getting around. An idyllic meeting of France and California with truly spectacular waves and wide-ranging cuisine, upmarket Hossegor thrives on a surfing culture of stylish, laid-back living. However, in authentic Capbreton next door, and many of the towns and villages no more than an hour away, the historical roots go deeper and there’s much to explore.
